Jac Caglianone is hitting home runs again.

The former Florida standout crushed his first home run of spring training on Sunday. The latest “Jac jack” went 435 feet for the Kansas City Royals in Cactus League action against the Chicago White Sox.

“That was loud,” manager Matt Quatraro said, per Anne Rogers of MLB.com. “And it didn’t look like a huge effort on his part, either. We know he’s got huge pop, but to be able to put that good of a swing on the ball in a game like that, close game, controlling his emotions like that, it was good to see.”

Florida fans, and college baseball followers everywhere, know all about Caglianone’s power. He set the NCAA’s BBCOR-era with 33 home runs in 2023 (broken by Georgia’s Charlie Condon in 2024 with 37). In a year in which Florida played 5 fewer games and Caglianone’s at-bats decreased from 282 to 248, he bested his own record-breaking season with 35 homers in 2024. Thanks to 7 home runs in a limited freshman season, Caglianone is Florida’s all-time home run leader with 75.

Caglianone finished his Florida career in style, going 16-of-36 (.444 average) with 6 home runs, 16 runs scored, 4 doubles and 14 RBIs in the NCAA Tournament. He was walked 17 times in the tourney, including 13 intentional walks.

The Kansas City Royals selected Caglianone with the No. 6 overall pick in the MLB Draft. Royal fans have a lot of Caglianone highlights to look forward to in the next few years.
