Offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell is the nation’s top overall prospect for the 2026 recruiting class. While he’s still on the market for the time being, that’s about to change, though he did adjust his final commitment date.
Previously, it was reported that Cantwell would visit Oregon on April 26-27 this weekend, leading up to his commitment on April 30. However, Cantwell put out a personal statement on social media on Wednesday that said he will push his commitment date to May 13.
The reason behind Cantwell’s delayed commitment? He’s fitting in a crucial unofficial visit to Georgia on May 10 to check out the program Kirby Smart has built in Athens.
“Sorry for the delays — (I) had to make sure I did it right the first time,” Cantwell wrote on social media while indicating his final list is unchanged. That list consists of the Bulldogs, Miami, Oregon and Ohio State.

Listed at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds out of Nixa (MO) High School, Cantwell is rated as the No. 1 overall player and top offensive tackle for the 2026 recruiting class per the 247 Sports Composite. He is a true multi-sport athlete who also played basketball and competed in track and field in high school as a decorated shot putter and discus thrower.
Regardless of which program lands Cantwell, he has all the makings of an elite starter at the next level.
