Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office issues statement after altercation between police and fans goes viral
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Professional Standards Division has issued a statement regarding an altercation that took place between police offers and fans at the Florida-Georgia game on Saturday night.
Video shared on social media shows multiple officers throwing punches at fans in the stands. It’s unclear at this time what led to that use of force by the officers, though it seems to involve some sort of dispute in the stands, but here’s video from the scene inside EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville:

Within hours of the game ending, a statement has been released by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Professional Standards Division. The organization says it is “aware of the videos circulating” from the crowd and that administrative reviews of the incident “are being opened.”
The agency says it will have no further comment until “all facts are known” on the matter.

As for the game itself, Georgia prevailed 34-20. The Bulldogs didn’t take their first lead of the game until the second half, but were able to pull away from Florida with a pair of touchdowns in the game’s final minutes.
