Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm is confident in his preparation ahead of the third-ranked Bulldogs’ New Year’s Day College Football Playoff semifinal showdown with No. 2 Oklahoma.

Fromm recently was interviewed by ESPN’s Maria Taylor about the upcoming bout at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for a chance to move on to the national championship game.

“I’ve prepared more than any freshman quarterback or any quarterback out there in the country could have prepared,” he said, according to a tweet from the SEC Network.

“It’s incredible,” Fromm added when asked what it meant to be a part of the Rose Bowl. “I’m extremely thankful, extremely blessed. It’s a wonderful opportunity that I don’t want to mess up in any way. We’re ready to go out and compete — and hopefully win a Rose Bowl.”

Fromm mentioned the “process” that head coach Kirby Smart and other assistants have instilled in the players. He said taking things each day and improving — along with help from offensive coordinator Jim Chaney — have been keys to his success this season.

The freshman QB also mentioned a well-known pair of veteran running backs on his team.

“Nick (Chubb) and Sony (Michel) don’t let me venture off too much,” Fromm said. “They’ve been great.”

In the video below, courtesy of a post on Twitter from WSB-TV, Fromm explains more about how Chubb and Michel have helped keep him level-headed throughout the season:

The ‘Dawgs and Sooners kick off at 5 p.m. ET on Jan. 1. The game will be televised on ESPN.
