Jalen Hurts, the former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback, has impressed in his young NFL career thus far, and he reached another milestone against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night.
Hurts recorded his 27th and 28th career rushing TDs in his 47th game, and that tied Cam Newton for the most-ever by a QB in his first 50 games.
In last night’s @Eagles win, @JalenHurts – in his 47th career game – recorded his 27th & 28th career rush TDs, tied with Cam Newton for the most-ever by a QB in his 1st 50 games.
It marked his 9th reg. season game with 2+ rush TDs. Only Newton (10) has more all-time among QBs.

Hurts still has 3 more chances to break Newton’s record in games 48-50 of his career. The Eagles will travel to play Tampa Bay, host Washington and then pay a visit to the Los Angeles Rams over the next 3 weeks.
As for the second record mentioned, it appears to be only a matter of time before Hurts is able to record two more 2+ rushing touchdown performances and pass Newton. Comparisons between the 2 have raged on for years now, but Hurts may be able to put those claims to bed if he is able to take control of some of Newton’s records.
