Jalen Milroe credits teammates for strong performance against Texas A&M

Jalen Milroe wasn’t in the good graces of all of the national quarterback rankings toward the beginning of the season, but he has since proven his doubters wrong as his play has progressed.

But he has not taken any of the credit for his rise himself, rather extending gratitude to the teammates around him and the role they have played in the upswing.

“What I remember most about that experience is playing with my brothers,” Milroe said. “That was very key. Having the opportunity just to take a snap is a blessing.”

He went on to praise former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young and the way he factored into his development as well.

“Just his communication with me during the game,” Milroe said. “The moment we had during the game… with the great leader that Bryce is, he allowed me to play freely. He gave me some advice on the field. So I had a (strong) support system around me during that game for my first SEC snap.”

Milroe is currently considered one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, holding a 67.6% completion rate while throwing for 1,159 yards with 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

He and the Tide will look to keep it rolling as they face Arkansas on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
