Jalen Milroe called the Michigan defense better than Georgia’s in his latest appearance on “The Next Round.”

Milroe was asked about the similarities between the Bulldogs and Wolverines on defense. The Michigan defense stood out as the more physical one to Milroe. Having the same players on defense in the last couple of seasons helps in that area.

“I think they’re different defenses. I think Georgia was more complex than Michigan is, but I think when you compare physicality, I think that’s where you can compare them,” said Milroe. “They’re both physical, I think Michigan has a better defense who has been playing together for a long time. I think that’s something that’s allowed them to be successful and it’s how they play well together. … There’s a reason why they’re undefeated.”

After facing one of the better defenses in the country in Georgia, Milroe and company will face another tough one in Michigan. The Wolverines lead the Big Ten in points allowed (9.5) and are 2nd in yards allowed per game (239.7).

Milroe has 2,718 yards passing with 35 touchdowns heading into the Rose Bowl. He will travel to Pasadena with his teammates to try to punch Alabama’s ticket to the national championship.
