Amidst all of the chaos of Alabama’s miraculous 41-34 win over Georgia on Saturday night, Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe accomplished something pretty spectacular.

As Cole Cubelic noted, Milroe became the first player in the AP poll era to record 300 yards passing, 100 yards rushing and 2+ touchdowns on the ground against a Top 5 opponent.

Milroe accounted for 4 touchdowns as a whole, 3 of which came during a first half performance that saw him dice up the vaunted Georgia defense.

Ranking fifth in the nation in total QBR through 5 weeks, Milroe has thrown for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns while just tossing the lone interception against the Bulldogs. He’s tacked on 273 rushing yards and another eight scores, propelling Alabama to an unbeaten start.

The Katy, Texas product has rocketed up Heisman Trophy odds lists and figures to be a major factor in that race as the Tide continue their march through SEC play and potentially towards the College Football Playoff. He’ll have chances to continue his Heisman push in blockbuster games against LSU (road), Missouri (home) and Oklahoma (road).
