Jalen Milroe was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for the offensive show he put on in 4th-ranked Alabama’s 42-10 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday in Madison.

Milroe was efficient, completing 12 of 17 passes for 196 yards and produced points through the air, throwing 3 touchdown passes against the Badgers. Milroe even burned Wisconsin with his legs, running for a team-high 75 yards with 2 rushing touchdowns.

Milroe hasn’t skipped a beat in Alabama’s transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer. Milroe has thrown for 590 yards in the Crimson Tide’s 1st 3 games of the season, with 8 TD passes and 0 interceptions.

He also has 2 rushing touchdowns in each of Alabama’s 1st 3 games, punishing the Western Kentucky and South Florida defenses in the 1st games the same way he punished Wisconsin’s defense on Saturday.

“Every time I get to touch the football field, I’m just very blessed, very passionate about the game of football,” Milroe said after Saturday’s dazzling performance. “Whenever we have an opportunity to make an explosive (play), it’s all about just having fun, just falling back to why I play the game — just to have fun, have moments like that.”

Now the real challenge begins for Milroe and the Crimson Tide, as they enter a bye week before gearing up for a Sept. 28 showdown with 2nd-ranked Georgia in Tuscaloosa.
