Jalen Milroe responsible for college football’s fastest plays in Week 11
Jalen Milroe was responsible for college football’s 2 fastest plays in Week 11.
The Alabama quarterback had a remarkable game as a runner in Alabama’s 42-13 win over LSU on Saturday night. He rushed for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging more than 15 yards per rush.
Given how difficult he was to bring down on Saturday night, it shouldn’t be surprising that Milroe was clocked at a whopping 21.9 miles per hour against the Tigers. However, he didn’t just do it once — he reached that speed on 2 separate plays, according to Reel Analytics.
That top speed was high enough to earn him college football’s 2 fastest plays in Week 11. The first time he hit that threshold was early in the first quarter when he ran the ball 39 yards right through the middle of LSU’s defense for Alabama’s first score of the game:

Milroe’s 72-yard touchdown run to start the 4th quarter was his other play that reached 21.9 miles per hour:

Milroe now has 16 rushing touchdowns on the season, which ranks second amongst all SEC players so far in 2024. Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson (20) is the only other SEC star with more than 10 rushing TDs on the year.
Milroe and the Crimson Tide will be in action again this weekend vs. Mercer.
