Jalen Milroe guided No. 8 Alabama to an important 42-28 victory vs. visiting LSU last weekend.

The sophomore quarterback particularly made his presence felt on the ground. Milroe rushed for 155 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Milroe was also extremely active as a rusher in 3rd-and-long situations. During a recent press conference, Milroe addressed his mentality during those plays.

“I think with approaching the game, all we want to do is advance downs. As far as my angle as far as being a quarterback, all I want to do is lead the offense and operate as efficient as possible. Whether it’s with the arm. Whether it’s with my legs,” Milroe said. “The biggest thing is trying to advance downs and trying to keep a good, positive approach as we’re playing. That was the emphasis to have whether it was pass or run. Just trying to make a positive play and be a point guard.”

Milroe’s dual-threat ability has been vital to Alabama’s offensive success this season. The Katy, Texas native has passed for 1,836 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions while also rushing for 297 yards and 9 scores.

Next up for Milroe and Alabama is a road contest at Kentucky. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. EST and the game will be televised on ESPN.
