Jalin Hyatt defends his skillset after repeated questions about Tennessee’s system

Jalin Hyatt faced questions leading into the NFL Draft about his involvement in the Tennessee offense, and whether the number he put up last season were aided by Josh Heupel’s playbook.

Hyatt, the former Tennessee star drafted by the New York Giants, is confident in his abilities in any offense. Hyatt defended that sentiment amid a flurry of questions from New York media.

“I’m a football player at the end of the day,” he said. “Yeah, I came from Tennessee’s offense, which I had fun in, learned a lot of things, will learn a lot of things in this offense, but at the end of the day, I’m a football player. I can play any offense, and I’m just glad I’m here.”

Hyatt said he’d do whatever the Giants ask him to the best of his ability when he was asked if he would need to do more in the NFL than he did with the Vols.

Hyatt said criticism of him being limited because of the Tennessee offense did not bother him, and he understands that people have their own opinions.

“The draft process is in the past, and I’m here with the New York Giants, and I’m just ready to get to work,” he said.
