Ja’Marr Chase on joining the Bengals: ‘I’m going to break every record they got’

Former LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is reuniting with Joe Burrow in Cincinnati, and it will give the Bengals second-year signal caller a game-changing weapon on the outside.

The last time these 2 played together, Chase finished with 84 catches for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2019. LSU’s offense torched everybody, and the combination of Burrow and Chase, among others, was unstoppable.

Will it happen again?

Chase already shattered records with Burrow at LSU, and now, he’s predicting he’s going to break Bengals records, too.

“I’m going to break every record they got at the Bengals,” Chase said. “That’s my goal right now. I’m telling you right now — I’m gonna break every record they have. I don’t know how I’m gonna do it, but it’s gonna get done.”

Chase opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19, but that didn’t stop him from being the top receiver taken in the NFL Draft. He was selected over Alabama stars Jaylen Waddle and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith.

To put Chase’s claim into perspective, Chad Johnson leads the Bengals in all-time receptions (751), yards (10,783) and touchdowns (66).

AJ Green isn’t far behind Johnson’s Bengals records either; so, Chase will be chasing Green and former star Johnson.
