Ja’Marr Chase continues to climb up the NFL hierarchy of wide receivers as well as forge his name into the NFL record books. And the former LSU star has plenty of company there with other ex-Tigers standouts.

The Cincinnati Bengals wideout’s big performance in Sunday’s 35-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons made Chase the 2nd-fastest player in history to reach 2,000 career receiving yards. It’s taken Chase just 24 games to reach the 2,000-yard plateau, tied with fellow ex-LSU star Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.

The only player to reach 2,000 career yards faster? That would be yet another former LSU star, Odell Beckham Jr., who accomplished the feat in just 21 games.

Chase had 8 catches overall and 2 touchdown grabs on Sunday against the Falcons, and his 130 yards receiving lifted him into the exclusive 2,000-yard club in just his 2nd season with the Bengals.

Chase was selected 5th overall by the Bengals in the 2021 NFL Draft.

He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and was a 2nd-team All-Pro after setting rookie records for single-year and single-game receiving yards in helping the Bengals reach the Super Bowl.

At LSU, Chase had 20 touchdown catches during the Tigers’ magical 2019 season, when he helped LSU capture the national championship.
