Four months after announcing that he would opt out of the 2020 season and transfer from Texas A&M, quarterback James Foster has revealed where he will continue his college career.

The former 4-star recruit, rated by 247Sports as the No. 12 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2018, will transfer to Conference USA program Charlotte.

He announced the news on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Foster was unable to see the field much during his time in College Station. In just 3 games in 2019, he completed 3 of his 9 passes for 30 yards while recording 15 yards on 5 carries. The Montgomery, Ala. native pledged to the Aggies despite offers from other SEC schools such as Alabama and LSU.

He originally submitted his name to the transfer portal earlier in the 2020 season, but decided to remove it before his decision to transfer and sit out the campaign. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Charlotte was 7-6 (5-3 C-USA) in 2019 in the first season for Will Healy, logging its first-ever bowl appearance in the Bahamas Bowl against Buffalo. It was 2-4 this year as it was forced to navigate the cancellation of several games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
