Janoris Jenkins, former Florida CB, elevated to 49ers’ active roster vs. Seahawks for TNF

The San Francisco 49ers are elevating receiver Willie Snead IV and cornerback Jaronis Jenkins for Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Jenkins played cornerback at Florida from 2008-10.
Jenkins, a former 2nd-round pick for the St. Louis Rams in 2012, will be active for the 1st time this season for San Francisco. Nicknamed “Jackrabbit,” Jenkins had not played since being a starter in the Titans’ divisional round game against the Bengals last season.

At 34, Jenkins is the league’s oldest active cornerback. The 49ers currently lead the NFL in scoring defense (15.2 points per game), and 11th in pass defense (211.8 yards per game). Offensively, San Francisco is currently on its 3rd quarterback, Brock Purdy, after usual starter Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a foot injury in Week 13’s 33-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.
The 49ers are currently leading the NFC West standings at 9-4 and rank 3rd in the NFC standings overall. San Francisco won the last meeting between the division rivals on Sept. 18 by a score of 27-7.
