Tennessee finds itself down 16 at halftime and things won’t get any easier in the second half as Jeremy Pruitt announced going into the break that starting quarterback Jarrett Guarantano will not be returning for the second half.

According to the Tennessee coach, Guarantano is officially listed as “Out” for the rest of the game.

Tennessee’s starter under center was hit hard in the back of the head to start the game when a Missouri defender came off the edge unblocked and hit the sophomore. Guarantano stayed in the game and even came out for the following series but was replaced by senior Keller Chryst soon after.

Guarantano did not connect on either of his two attempts to start the game. Chryst has come in and delivered mixed results, going four of seven for 108 yards and one interception. Tennessee is down 26-10 at halftime, and will now need the former Stanford QB to outduel Drew Lock in the second half to win this game from Neyland Stadium.
