Jason Brown was a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks football program in 2021 before deciding to transfer to Virginia Tech for the 2022 season.

He’ll end his lengthy college football career in the same place it began: in the FCS ranks. Brown announced on his Twitter account on Thursday evening that he had committed to Jackson State:

In Brown’s lone season at South Carolina, he made 7 appearances, starting 4 times and leading the Gamecocks to victories over Florida and Auburn. He joined the team after beginning his career at St. Francis (Pa.). In 2019, he was named an FCS All-American. Following his season with the Gamecocks, the Fredricksburg, Va. native headed to Virginia Tech, where he played in 3 games.

Now, Brown is headed to Jackson State, which will be a decidedly different atmosphere with Deion Sanders now the head coach at Colorado. Taking the reins is T.C. Taylor, who has been with the program since 2019 and is a former Tigers quarterback.
