Jauan Jennings was a seventh-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2020, but he never played a game for them last year. That changed in Week 1 of the 2021 season, when he made his NFL debut.
On Sunday, Jennings notched another pair of firsts, both on the same play.
Jennings, a former Tennessee wide receiver, recorded his first career reception in the 49ers’ road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles — and it also resulted in his first touchdown. He caught an 11-yard pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo that gave San Francisco a 7-3 lead with 12 seconds to go in the first half.

More touchdowns could be on the way for Jennings, who is starting to carve out a larger role on the 49ers’ offense.
Over 5 seasons at Tennessee, Jennings had 18 receiving touchdowns, including 8 during his final season in 2019.
