Jauan Jennings throws improbable Super Bowl TD on trick play

Jauan Jennings has produced the first touchdown of Super Bowl LVIII, delivering an improbable passing touchdown for the San Francisco 49ers!

Already up 3-0 over the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers were driving for more and dialed up a trick play on 2nd-and-10. That play involved Brock Purdy throwing a backward pass to Jennings to start things off.

Jennings took a glimpse down the field before eventually tossing a pass behind the line of scrimmage to Christian McCaffrey. The pass was wobbly and stayed in the air for what felt like an eternity, giving the Chiefs defense a chance to make a play.

Ultimately, Jennings’ pass found its mark and McCaffrey had a clear path to the end zone to make it 10-0, San Francisco:

Though an unlikely touchdown for Jennings, it is not his first passing touchdown. In fact, he had 2 passing touchdowns during his college career at Tennessee, including a 58-yard score against Florida.
