Jay Cutler will get a huge salary increase by signing with the Dolphins

If anyone was wondering why Jay Cutler decided to come out of retirement to play for the Miami Dolphins, this tweet from ESPN’s Darren Rovell should clear things up.
Culter is getting a massive salary increase to play one more NFL season instead of calling games for FOX Sports.
Jay Cutler would have made in between $400K & $450K at Fox, reports @MMcCarthyREV.

Football is a physical sport that can take its toll on one’s body, but getting a salary increase that is 25 times higher makes the decision a no-brainer — as long as health permits. Cutler turned 34 years old back in April, and he’s coming off a season in which he only managed to make five starts due to thumb and shoulder injuries. It’ll be interesting to see if the former Vanderbilt product can keep a clean bill of health after missing at least one start in every season since 2010.
Cutler has thrown for 32,467 yards and 208 touchdowns in his 11-year NFL career, but one has to wonder how much gas is left in the tank. The Dolphins, particularly HC Adam Gase, are hoping that Cutler can step in for former Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill and put up quality numbers for them this season.
