Jayden Daniels is a finalists for one of the most prestigious awards in college football.
The LSU quarterback was named as one of three finalists for the Maxwell Award, which recognizes the best player in college football. The other two finalists are Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and Oregon quarterback Bo Nix.

Daniels has had a historical season for the Tigers this year and it’s no surprise to see him as a finalist for the award. He has notched 3,812 passing yards, 1,134 rushing yards and 50 total touchdowns.
Penix and Nix are also both having outstanding season, with their respective teams battling it out in the Pac-12 Championship this weekend with a shot at the CFP on the line.
Penix has recorded 3,899 passing yards and 11 total touchdowns. Nix has recorded 3,906 passing yards and 44 total touchdowns.
There is good chance that the three finalists for the Maxwell Award will also be finalists for the Heisman Trophy. The finalists for the Heisman will be announced Monday.
