Jaydn Ott is expected to enter the transfer portal this week, according to multiple reports.
Ott was one of the best running backs in college football during the 2023 season, as he rushed for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. Last season, he dealt with injuries and was limited to just 385 yards.
While Ott hasn’t made any announcement on where he is going, the Oklahoma Sooners are reportedly a top contender for his services. That’s according to On3’s Pete Nakos:
Last season, it was a real struggle on the offensive side of the ball for the Sooners. The defense was good enough to keep the team in games, but too many times the offense let it down.
The Sooners have been extremely aggressive in the transfer portal, bringing in guys who can help on that side of the ball immediately. The biggest signing was former Washington State quarterback John Mateer, who threw for 3,139 yards and 29 touchdowns last season for the Cougars.
If Oklahoma is able to bring in Ott, the Sooners take a huge step forward offensively in 2025.
