Being the two-time defending champion of the East wasn’t enough to save McElwain, an offensive guy by nature who failed to kickstart the Gators offensively. If he was part of the Nick Saban coaching tree, how come he never coached like him?
Additionally, it’s only natural that Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen will be mentioned as a potential replacement for McElwain at UF. His former athletic director, Scott Stricklin, recently made the move himself from Starkville to Gainesville. Is it finally time for Mullen to make a move up the ladder?
