JD Vance is trying to make the best of an embarrassing moment he experienced during Ohio State’s trip to the White House on Monday.

During the ceremony on Monday, the Vice President went to pick Ohio State’s CFP trophy and the top fell off as he lifted it up. It was a moment that obviously had many people talking about it on social media.

Vance, an Ohio State alum, cracked a joke on social media shortly after the video went viral.

“I didn’t want anyone after Ohio State to get the trophy so I decided to break it,” Vance wrote.

This was Ohio State’s first National Championship run since 2014. The Buckeyes defeated Notre Dame in the title game back on Jan. 20 of this year to secure the championship.

Ohio State is once again amongst the betting favorites to win the national championship next season, but there’s still a lot of work to do before the Buckeyes can be in position to go back-to-back.
