Jeffery Simmons is expected to play Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers.
Simmons missed the Tennessee Titans’ last game against the Denver Broncos with an ankle injury. He was listed as questionable throughout the week and made enough progress during the short week to be cleared for Thursday’s game.
#Titans DT Jeffery Simmons is expected to play tonight against the #Packers, sources tell me and @RapSheet. One of the top defensive linemen in the game is back after missing last week’s win over the #Broncos.

The Titans will be getting back one of the best defensive lineman in the NFL. Even without Simmons, the Titans held the Broncos to 10 points. The Broncos only scored in the 2nd quarter and were shutout in the other 3 quarters. He is a fixture on the Titans’ defensive line and will help with stopping Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on offense. He last played against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9. The Titans lost the game in overtime, but Simmons 4 total tackles.
On the season, Simmons recorded 30 total tackles and 5.5 sacks in 8 appearances. Simmons is 2nd on the team in sacks behind defensive end Denico Autry. Simmons has been able to get to the quarterback and cause damage to opposing offenses.
The Titans sit atop the AFC South with a 6-3 record. Simmons will be an integral part of the defense in the 2nd half of the season for the Titans.
