Texas A&M got its SEC season started on the right track on Saturday, as the Aggies knocked off Auburn, 27-10.
Quarterback Conner Weigman left the game with an apparent left ankle injury, and quarterback Max Johnson came in the second half and went 7-of-11 for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The defense of the Aggies was dominant, as the unit held Auburn to 200 total yards of offense, and sacked the quarterback 7 times. The only time that Auburn scored a touchdown was a 68-yard fumble return by the Tigers defense.
After the game, coach Jimbo Fisher talked to reporters about Weigman’s injury, as well as making a joke about the incident where he was on the field during the Auburn fumble return for a touchdown.
“Bad execution on my part,” he said with a laugh.

After giving up 48 points in the loss to Miami, the Aggies defense has responded by allowing only 13 points in the past 2 games.
The Aggies will be back in action next Saturday as they take on Arkansas. This is the annual game that will be played at AT&T stadium.
