Jimbo Fisher has added another impressive name to his Texas A&M coaching staff by luring Jerry Montgomery of the Green Bay Packers to College Station. Montgomery served as Green Bay’s assistant defensive line coach for three seasons.
News of Montgomery’s move was first reported by Billy Liucci of TexAgs, the news is also being reported by Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle.
Interestingly enough, the Aggies will now have two defensive line coaches on staff for 2018 as Terry Price is being retained by Fisher from Kevin Sumlin’s staff. Prior to taking over the defensive line duties in Green Bay, Montgomery coached at Oklahoma, Michigan, Wyoming and Northern Iowa.
Aside from his highly regarded on-field coaching ability, the Aggies are getting a good recruiter in Montgomery. While at OU, he was named Big 12 Recruiter of the Year for the 2014 cycle by Scout.

One thing I believe many Aggies (Old and New) can agree on is Jimbo Fisher's retention of DL coach Terry Price @Coach_TPrice. The position has been a strength, he's a solid recruiter (Myles Garrett ring a bell?) & former A&M player to boot. 2 DL coaches w/ Jerry Montgomery.

Those on the Green Bay side are also reporting the news:
#Packers are losing assistant defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery, who is leaving to join Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M.
