Joe Burrow had a strong return to the Cincinnati Bengals following his ACL injury last season, as he helped them to an overtime victory in the season opener on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

But Burrow wasn’t the only former SEC player to help the Bengals. Former Florida kicker Evan McPherson converted a 33-yard field goal at the buzzer to lift the Bengals to a 27-24 victory in overtime.

The key play on the drive came when Burrow found former Auburn star C.J. Uzomah on fourth down and 1 for a 32-yard completion with 39 seconds remaining on a play that began near midfield.

Burrow finished 20-for-27 passing for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, he was sacked 5 times.

Given that the Bengals have plenty of former SEC players, they should be a team to watch this season, especially if they continue these dramatic finishes.
