LSU quarterback Joe Burrow was not surprised in the slightest by No. 25 LSU’s 33-17 drubbing of No. 8 Miami on Sunday night.

The Ohio State transfer went just 11-of-24 for 140 yards in his LSU debut, but he didn’t need to do much to ensure a double-digit victory over a top 10 team in week one.

LSU’s defense was the storyline of Sunday night, as they forced two turnovers and halted Miami’s offense from establishing any kind of momentum all game.

Even though he had to compete for the QB job, Burrow knew that he was walking into a good situation when he decided to come to LSU.

“So when I committed, everybody was talking ‘yeah you’ll go 6-6, 6-6, 5-7,’ and then I got here and I’m like, we are a really talented team, we can be really good,” he said.
