Joe Burrow has been commended for a number of things throughout his college and NFL career, including but not limited to what he calls being “sneaky fast.” And now, you can add master of the jump pass to that list.
Burrow connected with former LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase on the 2nd & goal play early in the second quarter to give the Bengals to the 21-14 edge over Pittsburgh. The game was tied before that play in what’s been a close matchup so far.
Here’s a look at the scoring play between the Tigers tandem:

Burrow and Chase were a nightmare for opposing defenses in college as Burrow led a high-flying LSU passing attack with Chase and Justin Jefferson serving as the “two-headed snake.” The Tigers haven’t seen anything like that since all three of those names become early NFL Draft selections.
Jefferson now suits up for the Minnesota Vikings, though multiple of his former teammates, including Thaddeus Moss at one point, wound up as Bengals.
Chase headed into the matchup with 73 receptions on 100 targets for 1,056 yards with 12 touchdowns. He was averaging 14.5 yards per catch.
He totaled 4 receptions for 30 yards with 1 touchdown as of the bottom of the second quarter with both teams preparing to head into the locker room. The Steelers had the upper hand, 24-21.
