Joe Burrow update: Report reveals extent of knee injury Cincinnati QB suffered in Super Bowl LVI
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals lost Super Bowl LVI to the Los Angeles Rams by a 23-20 final score on Sunday night.
To add to the Bengals’ problems, the former LSU star quarterback also suffered a knee injury during the game.
But, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, there is a silver lining — Burrow won’t require surgery to fix the injury:
#Bengals QB Joe Burrow suffered a knee injury in the Super Bowl that won't require surgery, sources say, based on initial tests. He’ll have to rehab, but the sprain shouldn’t drastically alter his offseason.

Considering Burrow spent last offseason rehabbing an ACL tear, this is really good news for his future. He was a legitimate MVP contender in 2021, and the future is bright for the Bengals.
Burrow threw for 263 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions during the big game. Can he lead the Bengals back to the Super Bowl? They’ll be a tough out in a loaded AFC next season.
