Joe Milton explains what appealed to him about the SEC, Tennessee’s offense

Michigan transfer Joe Milton is still learning the playbook at Tennessee as he tries to win the four-man quarterback competition. But he’s sure why he transferred to an SEC school.

“I heard people in the locker room say it’s like the baby version of the NFL,” Milton said. “I look at it that way, as I’ve been looking at different teams in the SEC. It’s kind of shown like that, like you’ve got a team like LSU that has great defensive backs, especially Alabama. They’ve got great coaches that put their players in the right situations. We’ve got to be prepared and come prepared with everything that comes with it.”

Milton added that one thing that appeals to him about the Josh Heupel offense is the opportunity to throw the deep ball.

The Pahokee, Florida native in 14 career games at Michigan accounted for 1,350 total yards of offense – 1,194 passing and 156 rushing and scored eight touchdowns. He completed 86-of-152 passes for 1,194 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions for a 57 percent completion percentage.
