Joel Klatt used an interesting comparison for No. 1 Georgia after the Bulldogs beat down previously undefeated Kentucky 51-13 on Saturday.

During The Joel Klatt Show, the FOX Sports analyst was floored by the performance from Georgia after some close calls in recent games.

Georgia produced 608 total yards while holding Kentucky to a mere 183. It was an eye-popping showcase for the back-to-back national champions according to Klatt.

“Good luck with Georgia if they’re motivated. Holy cow,” Klatt said. “I was questioning Georgia up to this point in the season. Because let’s face it, they hadn’t looked like themselves. I stand by what I said…It was a team that was not the same up front.”

Klatt believes the blowout is validation that Georgia is still capable of being a nightmare for quality opponents.

But we were reminded on Saturday that when Georgia wants to go to fifth gear, they still got it. They still have that gear,” Klatt said. “They get a ranked team in their building in a night game and it was just like all systems go. You’re reminded what it looks like.”

That’s when Klatt drew the comparison to a legendary Jamaican Olympian.

“It reminds me a little bit of Usain Bolt throughout his career, who would just kind of toy with runners at times in the prelims and everything…That’s what Georgia just did on Saturday to a pretty good Kentucky team….” Klatt said. “I thought it was a bad matchup for Georgia because of the way Georgia had played coming into the game, particularly the line of scrimmage.

Georgia used its extra gear for the primetime contest and now Klatt is back on board with the Bulldogs.

“They reminded us all. It’s the middle of the race. They were Usain Bolt,” Klatt said. “It was like oh you’re still the fastest runner on the track. I get it. Georgia is still Georgia.”
