Joel Klatt broke down the upcoming matchup between No. 14 LSU and No. 8 Alabama this week on The Joel Klatt Show, arguing that Alabama’s defensive performance will be the key.
“I look at this team and I go, ‘Boy, can anybody hold them under 40 points?” Klatt said of LSU. “I like Bama defensively, but Jayden Daniels is just playing at such a high level.”
Klatt went on to say that Daniels is one of his favorites in the current Heisman race, explaining that the difference between a guy like Daniels and Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is that the Tigers need Daniels to play at a high level to win.
“The pressure on Jayden is immense because he can not have a bad game,” Klatt said. “LSU does not win this game unless Jayden Daniels goes off.”
Up to this point, Daniels has thrown for 2,573 yards, run for another 521, and accounted for 30 total touchdowns.
