Joel Klatt, a FOX College Football analyst, sat down on “The Joel Klatt Show” to preview the upcoming top 10 matchup between LSU and Florida State in Orlando this Sunday.

“Two stud QBs, pass rushers, talent; a lot of NFL players on this field,” Klatt said. “I love this Harold Perkins and Jared Verse pass-rushing competition.”

College Football Playoff aspirations are on the line, as both teams have hopes of reaching the playoff after being just a couple steps away last season. Florida State finished 10-3 while LSU posted a 10-4 record with an SEC West title to go with it.

“This is going to set the tone between the eventual ACC champion and the eventual SEC West champion,” Klatt said. “Both of these teams will vie for those titles, and this game will tell us everything we need to know when it comes down to a debate.”

Klatt believes that LSU is the better team, and that they were also the better team last season. He complimented the Tigers’ efforts in the transfer portal and cites Brian Kelly being in his second season with Jayden Daniels at the helm as reasons that they will come out sharper in ’23.

“This is a quarterback that I believe in, a coach that I believe in, and I like LSU in this game,” Klatt said. “They’re favored by 2.5, they should be favored, they cover that and they beat FSU in the opening week.”
