Joel McHale on College GameDay: Fans react to actor/comedian’s performance

Joel McHale was the celebrity guest picker on College GameDay ahead of a huge Week 7 matchup between Washington and Oregon in the Pac-12.

The actor/comedian was a former Washington walk-on tight end in the early 1990s, so he knows a thing or two about college football.

Let’s just say he was amped to watch his alma mater take on its biggest rival on Saturday morning. As you can see below, he made a major entrance, covered in purple and gold body paint:

So what did fans think of this week’s celebrity guest? There was some mixed reaction. Obviously, Oregon fans didn’t like McHale’s schtick of picking Oregon to lose every game. But other than that, the reaction was mostly positive. Here’s a sampling of some of the social media activity:
