Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari is teaming up with Kansas coach Bill Self and country music star Kane Brown for a charity concert in Cincinnati next month that will benefit the John McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative.

The concert will take place on Oct. 28 at Fifth Third Arena.

Its main purpose?

That would be to raise awareness and funds for the McLendon initiative, which was founded by Calipari and Harvard coach Tommy Amaker with the mission of providing minorities a jump-start to their chosen careers through experiences, opportunities to build their network and instilling McLendon’s values — integrity, education, leadership and mentorship.

Many of the biggest college coaches in America have joined the initiative — 2 dozen in total — including Self, Alabama head football coach Nick Saban, as well as Cincinnati basketball coach Wes Miller, Cincinnati football coach Luke Fickell and Xavier basketball coach Sean Miller.

“It’s exciting to continue to bring awareness to the McLendon Leadership Initiative with opportunities like the Kane Brown Charity Concert,” Calipari said, per On3. “We are also so appreciative of Cincinnati companies ProLink and G3 Marketing who have been instrumental in helping me scale this program.”
