Kentucky basketball’s staff is adding a new member to its ranks, as the son of John Calipari will be joining the team as a graduate assistant.
Brad Calipari is a former Wildcat that played for his dad’s team from 2016 to 2019. He finished up his college career at the University of Detroit.
Brad announced his new job via Twitter on Thursday:
I am extremely excited and honored to begin my coaching career at the University of Kentucky. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me along the way, as I continue to chase my ultimate dream of one day becoming a head coach. (1/5) pic.twitter.com/YuPYxDiAl2

Brad then went on to state how grateful he was to joining his father’s staff at UK after being fortunate enough to play in front of UK fans during college:
I already lived one of my dreams in being able to suit up for the greatest fans in the country in the BBN, but now coaching!? Wow. (2/5)

He referenced his college career and the path he took in collegiate basketball, but said that his main motivation in changing people’s lives:
The path basketball has taken me has been an incredible one so far individually, but the opportunity to be a part of helping a player change his and his family’s life is my motivation. (3/5)
