John Emery has had an extremely difficult last 2 seasons at LSU, as the running back has torn his ACL both seasons. The two injuries both happened early in the season, which has allowed him to have only 33 carries the last 2 years.

Injuries have plagued the running back all throughout his football career. He also missed the 2021 season due to an injury as well as his junior season of high school. In his career at LSU, he has rushed for 1,123 yards and 14 touchdowns. In the season opener against USC last year, he was off to a good start as he had 10 carries for 61 yards before suffering the injury.

Despite all this adversity in his career, Emery made an announcement on Instagram that he would be indeed returning to LSU for his seventh season.

Emery gives a strength position for the Tigers even more depth, as sophomore Caden Durham both showed star potential as a freshman last year. He led the team with 753 yards and 6 touchdowns, while sophomore Kaleb Jackson also figures to be a contributor out of the backfield.

LSU has joined many teams across the country in announcing that they would no longer be doing a spring game due to concerns of tampering from other teams.
