John Rhys Plumlee in Gus Malzahn’s offense was must-see football this year, and it’s been as advertised so far.

UCF is hosting South Carolina State Thursday night, and Plumlee, the former Ole Miss quarterback, is off to a huge start.

The Knights have an early 21-0 lead, thanks to the dual-threat quarterback. He’s already thrown 2 touchdown passes and rushed for another one. The first touchdown pass was to former Alabama receiver Javon Baker for 7 yards, and the second came on a 25-yard pass to former Gators tight end Kenmore Gamble. Plumlee rushed for the Knights third touchdown.

Plumlee’s hot start has everyone buzzing for his Heisman candidacy just one quarter into the season.
