Johnny Manziel surprised Diego Pavia in the middle of his interview with College Football Live on Wednesday. Before this, Manziel and Pavia have never spoken with each other.
That’s obviously changed now.
“What an awesome game, so fun to watch,” Manziel said. “Couldn’t be happier for you. Sitting there and watching the whole thing play out has to feel like 2012 for me. But appreciate you showing me a lot of love, hope I get the chance to come on here and show you the same thing.”

Pavia admires Manziel, having compared his game’s to Manziel’s in the past, despite some calling him more Trace McSorley-esque.
“I think we bring the same electric mentality to the football game, to the football field,” Pavia said. “We both are big believers in ourself. I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to Johnny but we’re both wired different. We’ll do whatever it takes to win. I feel like we have a lot of the same play style.”
This marks just one of many media appearances for Pavia, who has instantly stepped into the spotlight after his role in the 40-35 upset victory over Alabama on Saturday.
Pavia finished the game completing 16 of his 20 passing attempts for 252 yards and 2 touchdowns, also rushing for 56 yards.
He and the Commodores will aim to stay on the right side of the win column as they face Kentucky on the road at 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday.
