Johnny Walker Jr. was a huge part of the Mizzou defense in 2024, leading the team in sacks (with 9.5) and forced fumbles (with 3). He is getting some major buzz ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft in April, too.
And it appears Walker will try to capitalize on his increasing draft stock. Following 5 years in Columbia, the last 2 of which he’s been a key part of the defense, Walker is taking his talents to the NFL.
Walker took to social media on Wednesday to announce his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, as you can see below:
Walker was a 3-star prospect out of Tampa back in the 2020 recruiting cycle. He chose Missouri over schools like Georgia Tech, Miami, Nebraska, Illinois, UCF and others.
Walker didn’t play much his first year, appearing in only 1 game. He appeared in 7 games in 2021 and 7 more in 2022, recording 2 sacks each year. He became a full-time contributor in 2023, recording 5 sacks. He finishes his Missouri career with a total of 18.5 sacks.
