Josh Heupel gives update on Joe Milton, reveals plans to honor 1998 national championship team
After concerns that Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton had suffered an injury of some sort against UTSA on Saturday, Vols coach Josh Heupel assured fans that he is perfectly fine.
Milton went down in Saturday’s game with what seemed like some discomfort in his knee and played the second half with a brace on, but Heupel explained during his press conference Monday that Milton has felt fine and will be ready to go against South Carolina on Saturday.
I asked Josh Heupel about Joe Milton's knee injury.
He acknowledged the photo on social media of Milton getting checked out for precautionary reasons, but said the QB is OK.
Heupel said Milton "has been good, feels good."

Heupel also said in his press conference that Tennessee has plans to honor the 1998 national championship team during Saturday’s game against South Carolina. This year marks the 25-year anniversary of the championship team.
The 1998 championship team went undefeated and won the SEC Championship before defeating Florida State in the Fiesta Bowl to claim their 2nd undisputed national title and 6th overall.
The game on Saturday will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET as Tennessee looks to avenge last year’s loss to the Gamecocks.
