Josh Jacobs has ended his holdout and reported to the Las Vegas Raiders following a much-anticipated contract extension.
In addition to a new contract, Jacobs also received a new jersey number. After he previously wore No. 28, Jacobs will now wear the No. 8 for the Raiders.

The Raiders posted a video on social media with the caption “New number, same colors.” Jacobs is seen admiring his new jersey with his new number and then trying on his helmet.
Jacobs and the Raiders have finally reconciled after a turbulent year-and-a-half. In April 2022, the Raiders declined the RBs fifth-year option. Jacobs took this as a slight, and ended up having the best season of his career in 2022, leading all rushers with 1,653 yards. Jacobs was selected to his 2nd Pro Bowl and earned first-team All-Pro honors.
This offseason, the Raiders and Jacobs were unable to agree on a contract extension prior to the deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign extensions. The new contract took the place of the franchise tag.
The former Alabama back and his team have reached a resolution and Jacobs will be playing for the Raiders in 2023, just with a different number.
