Joshua Simon entered Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt leading the team in touchdown catches, and he added to that with a score against the Commodores.

The score was tied at 0 early in the 2nd quarter when LaNorris Sellers hit Simon on a 17-yard touchdown pass to give the Gamecocks a 7-point lead.

Here’s a replay:

Simon now has 5 touchdowns on the season, and he also is leading the Gamecocks in both receptions (24) and yards (317).

South Carolina got its biggest win of the season last week when it knocked off the Texas A&M Aggies by a score of 44-20. In that game, Simon had 4 catches for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Gamecocks entered the game 5-3 with a couple of close losses to ranked team. They controlled much of the games against both LSU and Alabama, but lost those 2 games by a combined 5 points.

If the South Carolina is able to get the win against the Commodores on Saturday, then it will be bowl eligible with 3 more games remaining on the schedule.
