Jovon Robinson: ‘Everything about the Auburn coaching staff is not what it seems’

Former Auburn RB Jovon Robinson is not going to leave the team quietly.
The recently dismissed ball-carrier responded to questions from AL.com in a written message.
“Everything about (the) Auburn coaching staff is not what it seems,” Robinson wrote. “Just because I don’t walk around with (a) fake smile, they feel like they (can) say or try to force anything.
“I was stereotyped and disrespected. The football players are not happy with this.”
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn dismissed Robinson on Wednesday, the first day of Tigers practice. It was later reported that Robinson missed classes and meetings.
He told AL.com that’s not the reason he was kicked off the team.
“It’s nothing about me missing class or not paying attention,” Robinson told the publication. He also denied being involved in an altercation or failing drug tests. Robinson did not clear up exactly what happened.
"I asked what happened? Jovon wouldn't be direct with why things happen. It was a very odd conversation"

Robinson’s departure has brought up another high-profile dismissal under Malzahn: Duke Williams. AL.com’s James Crepea writes that the former running back thinks Malzahn is making an example of him as a response to criticism over how Williams’ situations were handled. Robinson added that he never had a “real relationship,” with Malzahn, but does not wish to get in a war of words with his former coach.
“I don’t want to go back and forth,” Robinson said. “If he feel(s) like the team is better without me maybe it wasn’t meant to be.”
