Georgia is off to a 5-0 start, dominating every opponent it has faced so far. And it’s done so despite the fact that its starting quarterback has been banged up with multiple injuries.

JT Daniels dealt with an oblique injury earlier in the season. Now, the junior QB is out with a lat issue, which caused him to miss Saturday’s 37-0 win over Arkansas. It didn’t matter that Daniels was out, as the Bulldogs cruised to victory.

Stetson Bennett started in place of Daniels, but he didn’t need to do much, going 7-for-11 for 72 yards. Bennett had found out that he was going to be starting on Monday, although it wasn’t public knowledge at that point.

After the game, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said that Daniels is “week to week,” but didn’t offer any idea of when the quarterback may return to game action.

“We think we’re going to be able to get him back,” Smart said during his postgame press conference. “We don’t know when.”

Daniels has played well when he’s been on the field, passing for 567 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, but he’s only appeared in 3 games. He last played in Week 4 against Vanderbilt, when he went 9-for-10 for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns.

In the meantime, Georgia is in good position to keep having success, considering its defense is playing so well. But its offense can still reach another level once Daniels is healthy enough to consistently take the field.
