Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide are set to play what may be their toughest game of the season on Saturday night as Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs head into town.

One of the biggest storylines within that is the clash between the two college football powerhouses is that for the first time in ages, it will be a coach not named Saban on the sidelines in Tuscaloosa. DeBoer told Saban ahead of the game what the most significant thing was that he has learned about the 2024 Alabama team in his first year with them.

“I’m very confident in our consistent preparation,” DeBoer said on College GameDay.

“And preparation throughout the week. It isn’t just what happens on Saturday. It leads us to a confidence within that’s real… I’ve learned that our upperclassmen, which are scattered throughout the team, have done a great job of bringing the youth along, knowing the importance that they have in helping them get ready for Saturday, game day, and being confident there.”

Saturday’s game is expected to be a close one that could come down to a fourth-quarter defensive stand for the team that ultimately ends up on the right side of the win column. Alabama and Georgia are set to kick off at 6:30 np.m. CT in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
