Well… it was a good start, Florida State.

Alabama is now up big on the visiting Seminoles following a massive play from Alabama starter Keelon Russell. The sophomore quarterback juked a few Florida State defenders then showed off his wheels, outracing the Seminoles for a 57-yard touchdown run. The score puts Alabama up 40-28 entering the 4th quarter.

Here’s a look at Russell’s run, the longest of his career by a wide margin:

Russell has had a fantastic game thus far for Alabama. He’s completed 21 of his 26 passing attempts for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns with zero turnovers. Keep in mind, we still have an entire quarter to play.

The turnover battle has decided this one. The Seminoles have turned the ball over 3 times compared to zero turnovers for the Crimson Tide. And while Alabama’s defense has struggle at times, they’ve been rock solid since the weather delay paused the game around the 2-minute mark of the 2nd quarter. Since that weather delay, Alabama has outscored Florida State 27-7.

Let’s see if the Crimson Tide can slam the door shut.
